TalenTrade: Job Portal Application

TalenTrade is an online platform that connects freelance workers with prospective clients in order to facilitate job placement services. This platform facilitates connections between freelance workers and businesses through verified freelance worker profiles, job openings, proposals for projects, transaction facilities, a messaging system, and project management tools.

This platform allows freelance workers to present their skills, find jobs, make proposals, and handle their projects as well as income. It also allows clients to post their projects, look at profiles of freelance workers, compare their skills and ratings, communicate with selected freelance workers, and manage their projects from one place. ReactJS, NodeJS, PostgreSQL, AWS, Stripe, and Pusher technologies were used in building the application.

1. Hard to Find Relevant Jobs and Talents

The task of finding appropriate jobs for freelancers is difficult due to the lack of opportunities, whereas it is also hard for clients to pick out relevant talent from many people applying. In order to make the hiring process easier, a centralized platform was required.

2. Verification of Freelancers

Unverified freelancers’ access to available jobs could decrease the level of trustworthiness of the platform. It was necessary to implement an approval-based verification process to allow users to use the website functionality.

3. Payments for Projects Across Countries

TalenTrade has its users coming from different countries, such as Israel, the UK, and the USA. Integration of an effective payment system supporting international payments became a technical requirement.

4. Instant Messaging

It was important to have an easy means of communication between clients and freelancers. Instant messaging was a necessity requiring integration of a reliable messenger.

5. Monitoring and Error Tracking

Administrators needed to have some way to see what errors occur and what notable events happen on the system. Without structured logs, it would be hard to see who performed what action and what errors occurred.

6. Building Trust Among Users

There was a need for trustworthy information about the freelancer’s expertise, ratings, work done, and experience on the part of the clients, while there was a need for trust among freelancers to work with clients.

Freelancer Verification

Administrators can view freelancer accounts and approve verified freelancers to have access to job listing and apply for projects.

Job Listing

Verified freelancers can browse through available projects and can check their job requirements, client info, budget, and needed skills.

Freelancer Listings

Clients can search for freelancers based on their skills, ratings, completed projects, and other profile information. Suitable freelancers can be saved for future consideration.

Project Posting

Clients can post projects by entering their project title, description, required skills, attachments, and budgets.

Proposals Management

Freelancers can send proposals to suitable projects, whereas clients can view proposals received by them and choose from appropriate candidates.

Client Dashboard

The client dashboard provides an overall view of posted projects, ongoing projects, received proposals, and other project-related stats.

Freelancer Dashboard

Freelancers can track their completed projects, earnings, ratings, received invitations, sent proposals, ongoing projects, and more.

Ratings & Reviews

Both clients and freelancers can rate and review each other after collaboration, which helps them to evaluate potential partners for doing business with.

Categories & Specializations

Freelancers can select relevant categories and specializations, whereas clients can filter talent based on required skills.

Real-time Chat

With Pusher integration, it is possible for both clients and freelancers to engage in real-time communication while discussing and executing projects.

Secure Payment

Stripe integration allows secure payment processing between the client and the freelancer.

Notifications

The system has notifications for important activities, including receipt of proposals, payments, project information, among others.

System Logs

A JSON-based system log tracks all errors and important events in the application, enabling administrators to view all users, actions, and details of errors.

Dispute Resolution

Both the client and the freelancer may file disputes when there is a dispute in the execution of the project.
