Project Overview
The Restaurant & Food Rating Application is an application for smartphones, which aims to help users to discover, evaluate, and explore the variety of restaurants in Hamburg. There are over 600 restaurant listings available through the application, thus allowing food lovers, gourmets, vegetarians, meat lovers, and people interested in trends to find restaurants according to their tastes and interests.
One is able to search for restaurants in his or her neighborhood, explore information about the restaurants and read reviews, bookmark favorite restaurants, learn about newly opened restaurants, and see the best restaurants in the ranking. It is possible to share one’s impressions about the restaurants by writing reviews and uploading pictures of the food served there.

Business Challenges
1. Discovering Relevant Restaurants
Most users find it hard to discover restaurants that meet their location criteria and other requirements. A location-based approach was therefore required to enable the process.
2. No User-Created Reviews and Ratings for the Restaurant
Without having reviews and ratings from users, customers had very little information on where to go and what to eat at the dining place.
3. Managing the List of Restaurants
With over 600 restaurants and always-changing restaurant details, the platform had to be able to effectively manage the listing, reviews, ratings, and details of restaurants.
